German Language Classes
Who says German has to be stiff and dry? Haven’t they heard the musical poetry of Brecht, Goethe, Hesse? Or the poetic music of Mozart and Bach? Our German classes are fun and focused on a practical application of the language. They immerse you from the very beginning in Germany’s rich culture, and the learning comes to you naturally in a comfortable, friendly and good-humoured atmosphere. Enter at the level you feel comfortable or ask us to evaluate and place you.
The Beginner’s course starts with basic vocabulary and simple sentence structure, and then progresses quickly with s stroll through the portals of German’s efficient and cutting-edge grammar.
At the Intermediate level the speaker’s vocabulary is dramatically expanded, grammar is examined more in depth and the active command of the language expands to where meaningful conversations can be held.
For the Advanced student there are always more doors to be pushed open, like developing an intuitive sense for the language, acquire specialist vocabulary and navigate with elegance the most complicated rules of grammar.
Mixed level Conversation classes are held parallel to the main courses and provide lively and sometimes noisy opportunities to loosen up the tongue and stimulate the vocal chords. Discussion topics run straight across the entire human experience. The can meander from contemporary topics through literature and art and may occasionally descend to the lowest level of the latest local gossip!
Group classes consist of a minimum of four and a maximum of eight students. Individual tuition specifically tailored to your personal needs is available upon request.
Classes are held on an ongoing basis and a fee of $120 per person is to be paid at the beginning of each month. This includes a two-hour weekly group class with plenty of homework, plus a one-hour weekly conversation class.
Also available are specifically packaged in-company training classes, written language training, translation of documents, conference and on-site interpretation.
